This is not an attack or even criticism of the UCP, though that could easily be warranted (for instance, Jason Kenney, our last ousted premier, was a globalist shill, traitor, liar, demented two-faced wolf who pretended to be conservative but was anything but, and belongs at best in a dungeon with the key thrown away). I am happy that we have this political party in our provincial office, versus the supremely evil, diabolical and wilfully destructive lefty NDP (who would cheat into a win if they could, like their bed buddies the liberal party).
Nevertheless, a statement made by Mrs. Danielle Smith very recently at the 2022 AGM of the United Conservative Party (UCP) of Alberta, the newly elect Premier of Alberta—and the keynote speaker of the said AGM—, claimed that “come hell or high water, we will beat the NDP in 2023.” (Oct 22, 2022). I sure hope they do beat the NDP but they won’t override God's sovereign will, which once was “high water” and will be “hell” soon enough. God gives people over to their evil, and so man’s agenda or plans, regardless of sincerity, is thwarted rather frequently. Today we live in a wicked nation that has no regard for God or the things of God, so God is giving them over to their wicked behaviour and tyrannical dictators. That means reaping what they are sowing. Nevertheless, there was no dodging the judgment of “high water” like there will be no dodging the judgment of “hell.”
To make such a brash statement is foolish. No man can counsel the Lord. No man can stop God’s judgment upon the nations and upon individuals. She got a loud ovation for saying that, which is pretty sad, but predictive in our age of great apostasy. And then she gave zero credence or glory to God or His will, no appeal to His plans, but acted as one king Herod, who, when he didn’t give God the glory, was smote to death by the angel and eaten of worms (Ac 12:23).
Frankly, Mrs. Smith doesn’t even know what tomorrow will bring, never mind next year! Though she is boldly opposing the WEF, reversing some of the damage done by the covid tyrants and our ungodly liberal federal government, and moving Alberta in the right direction, she should give special attention to what the following passages loudly declare:
“Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” (Proverbs 27:1)
“Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” (James 4:13-14)
Confidence shouldn’t be mixed with arrogance, especially not when mocking God’s judgments. Though this phrase, "come hell or high water," may be stated as a clever and even “bold” figure of speech, it nevertheless has meaning. And its meaning is obviously directly tied to the Triune God of Heaven and Earth, and to His Word, Who brought and brings judgment upon mankind. Its actually not “bold” or clever but mockery and foolish, reflecting a serious lack of fear of God.
Indeed,
“Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: . . . There is no fear of God before their eyes.” (Romans 3:13, 18).
Can Man Impede “High Water”?
Roughly 4,500 years ago, God baptized the entire world with “high water,” save eight. Man laughed and mocked and scorned “high water,” while Noah, a “preacher of righteousness” (2 Pet 2:5), preached, and laboured at the boat God had him build over 120 years. The people ate, drank, married, built, bought and sold, and were merry, with the attitude “she’ll be right mate” but nothing could be further from the truth. The clock of judgement was quickly counting down. God’s patience with ungodly, unrighteous and wicked mankind wore thin and reached a boiling point, and the world was about to feel His wrath quite intimately. The strongest of swimmers was quickly swept away as the narrow door to their salvation closed, as the Lord "spared not the old world" and brought "in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;" (2 Pet 2:5).
The people shouldn’t have scorned and mocked the “high water” that God had promised. In the end, God had the last laugh.
"Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof." (Proverbs 1:23-30)
Premier Smith is mocking God's judgement and she would have perished in that universal grave of liquid.
Thankfully, every time we have the rainbow today after a rain storm, we see God’s promise to never judge the world with water again (Genesis 9:12-17).
But that doesn't mean God ended His judgment upon mankind. There is in fact even a worse judgement coming than "high water."
Can Man Impede “Hell”?
Today many, most, scorn and mock the “hell” that is coming. They eat, drink and marry like in the days of Noah (Luke 17:26-27) while wilfully ignorant to the judgment of God upon their lives and the nations wherein they dwell.
"And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all." (Luke 17:26-27)
Hell is coming and is described as a place of eternal suffering in fire in God's Word (Matthew 13:42, 50; Mark 9:44-48; Luke 16:24; Rev. 14:10; 20:10, 15).
Consider some of God's descriptions of Hell:
“wailing and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 13:42, 50);
“cast into a furnace of fire” (Matthew 13:42, 50);
"everlasting fire" (Matthew 18:8);
"hell fire" (Matthew 18:9);
“depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire” (Matthew 25:41;
“hell fire” (Mark 9:47);
“the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:44, 46, 48);
“tormented in this flame” (Luke 16:24);
“flaming fire” (2 Thessalonians 1:8);
“fiery indignation” (Hebrews 10:27);
“tormented with fire and brimstone” (Revelation 14:10);
“tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Revelation 20:10)
"Lake of fire" (Revelation 20:15)
God's just judgment of all sinners and wicked people will happen. Its not a matter of "if" but "when."
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. . . . And there shall in no wise enter into it [Heaven, the eternal city of the New Jerusalem] any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." (Revelations 21:8, 27).
When the Lord Jesus Christ returns to earth, He will firstly slaughter all people that "know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ" and then cast them into "everlasting destruction" which is eternal hell fire:
"And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day." (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10)
"But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." (2 Peter 3:7)
You will NEVER impede the judgement of God concerning hell fire.
Instead of Mocking God's Judgement, Repent and Be Born Again
1. Fear the Lord.
The lost, unsaved, even religious hypocrites (which is vast majority of those who profess to be Christian), do NOT fear God,
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.” (Romans 3:18).
Instead of mocking God, His Word or His judgements, you should fear Him. You should fear Him above all, and above everything. Fear Him.
“And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” (Luke 12:4-5)
“Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield. He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.” (Psalm 115:11, 13).
“He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.” (Psalm 147:10-11).
“Put them in fear, O Lord: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.” (Psalm 9:20).
“The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.” (Proverbs 14:27).
“Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways.” (Psalm 128:1).
2. Run the government according to the Word of God, in the fear of God.
That means calling evil, evil, and not rewarding evil.
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34).
Call abortion what it is: murder. Capital punishment for all those who shed man’s blood, and that includes all involved in the most despicable and horrendous crimes of murdering innocent babies.
"Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." (Genesis 9:6)
Make sodomy marriage illegal. The entire LGBQT,ETC,EVIL disallowed and do what Romans 13 says you are supposed to do:
“For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.” (Romans 13:4)
3. Stop trusting in your corruptible flesh.
“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. . . . The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:5-6, 9)
4. Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
5. Be ye saved. Be born again. Be converted so you know the Lord Jesus Christ, to know Him personally.
The LORD God calls to mankind,
“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” (Isaiah 45:22)
“Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.” (Isaiah 59:1-4)
You are a wicked sinner that needs to be born again.
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9)
Romans 3:10-18 further describes your evil and wicked nature:
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes."
Where does your evil and wicked actions, thoughts, and words come from? Your deceptive and desperately wicked heart:
"That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." (Mark 7:21-23)
Being saved requires the new birth:
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." (John 3:3-7).
The new birth, salvation, is ONLY through the Lord Jesus Christ:
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)
The new birth requires repentance and knowledge of God (Proverbs 1:20-31; 2:1-5; Acts 3:19; etc). The Lord Jesus warned:
“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5)
Knowledge requires a love for truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10) and understanding of your wicked nature (Jeremiah 17:9), your totally deserving eternal punishment of hell fire (Mark 9), knowing who God is, what His bloody sacrifice did for mankind (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Rom 1:16), and how you can be saved.
Repentance requires you to fear the Lord and hate sin. It requires you to volitionally, intellectually and with godly sorrow turn from your sin, from your wickedness, from your self and from your people or idolatrous system, to the Lord God.
True repentance will produce true faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel.
Salvation comes by “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Acts 20:21).
“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6-7)
God wants to give us a new heart, and that is possible only through the new birth, which is possible only through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The following passages out of Ezekiel are written to Israel, but the principles and truths apply to all equally:
"Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye." (Ezekiel 18:30-32)
Those that are truly born again will not be deceived by the Antichrist, who is about to make his entrance into the world and be the great global leader the world wants. Everything happening in the world presently is the stage for this to occur. But he is the devil and he will destroy and kill a large majority of the population of the world and bring great evil to the world, unlike anything ever seen. Many passages in the Bible speak of this event and his rule over the world for seven years, referred to as the Great Tribulation period, including here in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12,
"Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
If you follow what is written above, to fear the Lord and desire to rule the government according to God's Word and wilfully desire to trust in the gospel of Jesus Christ with repentant faith and not in your own wicked self or in others and lead the government in accordance to the dictates of Holy Script, this should lead to a love for the truth and eventual salvation. Your blinded eyes will be open (Acts 26:18), “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32).
Not free to do as you please, to claim Christianity while not heeding Gods commands and living in contradiction to His Word, which is exceedingly sinful and the behaviour of evil hypocrites, but free from your sin (John 8:33-36) so you can serve and “worship Him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-34).

When all would be said and done and Premier Smith is truly born again through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, she would even reconsider her position as a female exercising authority over males, confounding God’s hierarchy of authority. Women leading the nation while men are spineless, flubber jellies, is also an indication of God's judgement upon the nation.
Being truly born again brings God’s blessings upon you, your family, your employer, people around you, and the community you live in. That is not why we need to be born again, but that is the goodness of God upon His children through the new birth. But it will also bring suffering, persecution and tribulation, like gold tried in a furnace of fire. The Lamb is worthy!
Most importantly, the need for repentance is required because you are an enemy of God. He created you for His glory, but you live wickedly and in selfish glory. Repent or perish!
"The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath." (Proverbs 15:24)
Or will you be a scoffer walking after your own lusts?
"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. . . . The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?" (2 Peter 3:3-7,9-12)
