Biblical knowledge or discernment isn't something many professing Christians seem to have today. If they knew anything of God’s Word, Rick Warren and his books would have been rejected from the start and he would have been treated as the wolf in sheep’s clothing that he is. It didn’t take much reading in his Purpose Driven Life (PDL) books to discern that it was horribly unBiblical and representative of a completely different gospel and Jesus and spirit (2 Cor 11:4) than that found in scripture. Instead, he was warmly embraced and became very popular and that speaks volume to “evangelical” Christianity, and to majority “Christians” today.
“Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” (Lk 6:26).
What it in fact reveals is an absence of discernment because they are absent of the One that gives discernment (1 Cor 2:14-16).
The truly regenerate believer acknowledges the truckloads of heresy by Warren, and rejects him wholesale because he is antithetical with truth of Scripture; he promotes sin and error; and because God’s Word commands it. The saved are wise, have understanding, know the truth, and understand all things (Jn 8:31-32; 14:14-17; 16:13; 1 Jn 2:20-21, 27), and thus don’t believe a lie (1 Jn 2:20-21), and reject error and false teachers (Jn 10). As a new born again believer just over sixteen years ago, I received a copy of the PDL book by Warren, and it only took one chapter of reading to see the serious errors and sin in the book, and that it was far from God but in line with the god of this world, the Devil (Jn 8:44), thereby relegating it to the box of Christian poison and eventually using it for fire starter.
In 2006 Warren preached a false gospel of works at TED Talk, never once mentioning the gospel of Christ or how to be Biblically saved. Instead he changed the truth of God into a lie and proclaimed to this highly influential audience of mostly unregenerate Christ-rejecters that to find favour with God you just need to continue being you. Psychoheresy instead of the truth. Not once did he even speak of Jesus Christ (though he did mention Jesus’ name—once). He also quoted the first line in PDL "It's not about you" but then went on glorifying himself for the vast majority of the show (about 18.5 minutes of the 20 he had).
Consider a brief overview of Warren’s manure pile of heresy though it be huge: Warren promotes contemplative mysticism; teaches a horribly perverted false gospel on many different fronts (anemic, no repentance, no Lordship, no blood, no hell, no fear of the Lord no preaching of this true gospel, etc); loves worldly and ungodly “Christian” rock music and turns churches into rock and roll entertainment centres complete with pelvic thrusts and disco lights; embraces any modern Bible perversion coming down the Satanic line; rejects God’s Word as truth or as inspired; preaches the heretical “judge not” philosophy; self-adulation and glorification of man; extremely ecumenical, embraces any form of evil and apostates (such as Roman Catholic universalists Mother Teresa, Henri Nouwen, and Thomas Merton, and New Age practitioners) and calls for unity between Baptists, Roman Catholics, Pentecostals, etc; likens Christian fundamentalists to Moslem terrorists; is loaded with psychoheresy; considers Islam’s false god to be the same God as the Bible, which is almost unbelievable, and thus promotes the evil teaching of Chrislam; promotes the exceedingly worldly and ungodly Baptist World Alliance; claims that Christians should work with unbelievers and pagan religionists to build the kingdom of God; presents Roman Catholic one-worlder and extremely evil Tony Blair with a peace prize (Mar 2011); many evil associations; hatred for Biblical obedience (i.e. fundamentalism); massive amounts of scripture perversion and corruption, practically a blanket over everything he says and writes; is a major mover of the Antichrist and his globalists to desensitize and blind the eyes of those with a pretence of Christian religion; and the list keeps going on and on, nigh endless. Yet there is one more “jewel” that can be added to the M. Everest pile of Warrens Dung: the ordination of female “pastors.” On Mother’s Day 2021, May 6, this largest of Southern Baptist Churches “ordained” three woman as “pastors.” How fitting but how ironic. It is actually antithetical to motherhood. It will destroy motherhood, clearly and sharply. If they were to open a King James Bible, they would read that woman are not only prohibited from being a pastor (the pastor is to be male, “the husband of one wife” Ti 1:6) — they aren’t even permitted to speak in church!
"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (1 Tim 2:11-14).
Woman are not to hold any position of leadership over a man because God made male the head and ruler over the female (Eph 5:23; 1 Cor 11:3), “he shall rule over thee” (Gen 3:16). Thats also taught in the NT: “the head of the woman is the man” (1 Cor 11:3). The quicker women can come to grips with this, the better it’ll be for them. Salvation itself will deliver you from such an evil philosophy, which requires submission to the Male God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. The reason why majority of woman are unsubmissive to their husbands and seek to usurp authority over them, as noted in this wicked practice at Warrens man-centred man-worshipping Laodicean “church,” is because they rebel against the authority of God, and as long as that continues, they can never be saved.
Woman are not even permitted to speak in the church, and it is a shame for them do so. They are to be under obedience to their husband, and ask him at home if they have questions:
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." (1 Cor 14:33-35).
A woman has no business being in a position of pastor, or any position teaching men or usurping authority over a man. Anyone that knows anything about the Bible knows this. It unsexes both the woman who usurps this authority and the men who submit to it. So what’s the problem today in “evangelicalism”? Unregeneracy. They are rebels against authority: God and men. If they were truly converted to Christ they would be walking in obedience to God’s Word and would know this and obey it (1 Jn 2:3-5; Jn 14:15-24; Jn 8:12, 31-32). Obedience in all things is the litmus test. Saddleback is in open rebellion against Christ the King, in high treason against his sovereignty, His nature and grace.
Warren claims the “best days are ahead” but he and they are blind, deaf and dumb (Matt 13:14-15) to the worst days before them — so bad in fact, there will be unending “weeping and gnashing of teeth” in unquenchable hell fire (Matt 13:42-50). Eternally they will dwell over how they loved themselves, this world and the devil, instead of fearing God, genuinely repenting and surrendering to Jesus Christ as Lord and loving Him. But if you have yet breath in you, it’s not too late,
“For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.” (Matt 13:15).
Do you like Rick Warren and his heresy?
“Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.” (2 Ch 19:2)
You are a “partaker of his evil deeds.” (2 Jn 1:11).
If you lack the discernment to see the errors and evilness of men like Warren and ministries such as Saddleback Church, you need to be converted and then “ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (Jn 8:32). Jesus said,
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (Jn 8:34-36)
You can be free but you must repent. Truly Repent (link).
“Evangelicals” like Warren are the “enemies of the cross of Christ” frequently warned of by Paul,
“Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)" (Phil 3:18-19)
“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” (Rom 16:17-18)
Jesus also warned of such wolves:
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (Matt 7:15)
